How is HR software ROI calculated?

Add up the yearly value the system creates, subtract its yearly price and divide by the price. The value has two parts: HR time freed from manual work, priced at your HR team's hourly cost, and business effects such as lower turnover and faster hiring.

Example: for 500 employees and a €2,500 monthly HR salary, Skailer frees 7,284 HR hours a year (€108,393) and adds €150,500 in business effects. At €15 per employee per month the price is €90,000, so ROI is (€258,893 − €90,000) ÷ €90,000 = 188%, and Skailer pays for itself in 4.2 months.

ROI=Yearly value−Yearly priceYearly price×100%\text{ROI} = \frac{\text{Yearly value} - \text{Yearly price}}{\text{Yearly price}} \times 100\%
How it works

How the ROI calculator works

01HR hourly cost
Monthly HR salary divided by 168 hours.
02Time back
Skailer takes 59.5% of your HR team's hours across 30 HR tasks and cuts recruiter time per hire from 56 to 24 hours across 30 recruiting tasks.
03Business effects
Lower turnover, faster hiring and onboarding, fewer HR data errors and less manager time, each from an assumption you can edit. Add an average salary to tie them to your pay levels.
04ROI and payback
Total value minus Skailer's yearly price, divided by the price. Payback is the yearly price divided by the monthly value.
